Introducing ... Noelle Chunhan Kirchhoff

Feng Chun Han (), soon to be Noelle Chunhan Kirchhoff, is currently residing in Fengcheng, Jiangxi in the People's Republic of China.

Jiangxi is between Hunan and Fujian, slightly south and east in China, and Fengcheng is near Nanchang in the north end of the province.

She was born on July 19th 2003 with a head of hair!!

She has been growing very well.

At birth:

  • Height: 49cm / 19.3in
  • Weight 3.1 kg / 6.8lb
  • Head circumference: 33cm /13in
  • Chest circumference: 31cm / 12.2in

At 4 months:

  • Height: 59 cm / 23.2in
  • Weight: 5.5 kg / 12.1lb
  • Head circumference: 38.8 cm / 15.3in
  • Chest circumference: 38.6 cm / 15.2in

At 10 months:

  • Height: 68cm / 26.8in
  • Weight: 8.4kg / 18.5lb
  • Head circumference: 44.5cm / 17.5in
  • Chest circumference: 44cm / 17.3in
  • Feet: 11cm / 4.3in
  • Teeth: 0

Steven kindly charted the slopes of her growth in all of these areas.

This puts her at about 12th percentile on the *US* growth charts in height and 30th percentile in weight. On the Chinese charts she is about 25th percentile in height and 75th in weight. As Mom said, short and round -- she will fit right in. :-)

My boss was kind enough to do an informal translation of Chunhan's papers, and apparently she is extroverted, energetic, likes to be outdoors, likes to laugh, sing and babble, and has a temper. On the medical sheet, in the slots where the doctor was supposed to put information down about her eyesite and hearing, the word "uncooperative" was written.:-) It is only a little bit to go on, but she sounds like a firecracker!

I don't know what age she was when the photos were taken, but I am guessing she was about 4 months old which is the age at which most of the information I currently have on her stopped.

Chun means Spring and Han means inside (like inner to oneself, such as inner beauty). One of my Chinese co-workers says its a beautiful name in Chinese.

Scroll down to see the photos of her that I have received. You have to love that hair, and she looks so alert. What a cutie!!!!!!

She should be home in time for her first birthday!! I just cannot wait for us to start our family life together and for her to turn my life upside down!
